Wusthof Knives for SaleWe bought a 7-piece starter set of Wusthof Classic knives, which came
with a bread knife, 8-inch cook's knife, sandwich knife, paring knife,
knife steel, scissors, and a knife block. It was the first time we had
purchased a quality knife set. (Being on the cheap side, we had always
bought the inexpensive mass-produced stuff from Wally World.)
These knives rock! They cut, slice and dice like no other knife we've used. Everything you've heard about Wusthof is true! After finally experiencing true knife quality for the first time, I added to my set by purchasing a 6" cook's knife, a santoku 9-inch slicing knife, and a 5-inch utility knife. I opted for the Wusthof Classic Ikon for these additions. The blades are the same high-quality Wusthof blades, but the Classic Ikon knives have a more ergonomic handle and feel better in my hand.
Now I actually look forward to preparing meals, because I get to use my Wusthof knives. Eventually I'll round out my Wusthof knife set with some specialty knifes -- a tomato knife, perhaps, and a boning knife, and others. But for now, the knives I've got meet my needs just fine.
